The Lisakovsky Museum of History and Culture of the Upper Pritobolye was founded in 1991. Initially, it operated as an independent department of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore, funded from the city budget. The basis of the collection of the Lisakovsky Museum was the funds transferred from the historical and industrial museum of the city-forming enterprise - the Lisakovsky Mining and Processing Plant. The materials were collected by S.M. Lyapustina, the founder of the museum business in Lisakovsk.
